what size is this darbuka 23 cm?
could you explain th 5/8 one - i can't seem to figure that one out. Thank you for sharing these beautiful rhythms
I think I figured it out…. It took a while though, haha. 😅 DrtTkTk DrtTkTk DrtTkTk DrtTkTK DrtTkTk DrtTkTK DrtTkTk DrtTkTKD (The accents on the last K’s of each section vary a bit in her fast and slow recording. The one I’ve written out is when she plays it fast.)
could we do it again with a little longer braking down?
💚
Thank you for explaining! 🎉
Amazing clarity! Thank you
You’re more arab than me
That is the most accurate instructions. That guarantees the right sounds in short time. Thanks Keep those videos coming 👌
Clear and Concise...Appreciate it!
Please explain more about the left hand. It seems like there is some interaction between the palm and the rim of the drum that is helping create some whip on your fingers
ما اسم هذه الالات الموسيقية لو سمحتم ؟ 1:07
It's remarkable you play all these different rhythms, enjoyed watching thanks.
I think Ozzy out in LA plays one of these.
The Darbuka is an instrument that ignites the atmosphere with enthusiasm and excitement. Arabic music does not do without the Darbuka😊
Great video, and rhythms. I am familiar with most of them, and will use your video for practicing. The Wambooka has a great look, and crisp sound. Thankyou!
👏👏👏
Her bijî! ♥️
Would love to see more frame drum tutorials!
So - which ocean/rain drum do suggest? ALL other vids limit to moving the BB’s around I’m a drummer so need to do what YOU do with them. ❤
I never knew Thank you
Why you censored Lur name?? Daaya Daaya (Mother Mother) is a #Luri_ Bakhtiari song, please respect more and add Luri language name 📛📛📛
Luri is dialect of Persian not other language Hidden pan Kurd
Sure, Deutsch is also a dialect of Persian ❤. Stand with Pehlvi.
beautiful !love you
I like you voice. so nice
Soy de Ceuta y cuando tengo ansiedad me pongo musica árabe relajada y con los estrumentos tan armonico me hace sentir paz conmigo mismo.
Usually when I declare a 5-minute lesson I go on and on and on over 30 minutes :) Your video is extremely cool and inspiring, enjoyed watching and I hope many will be inspired to fire up their Darbuka playing with this introduction and your wonderful channel!
❤
nah because i was dancing through the whole video lmfao
i think the legs are bttr then the darbuka❤
are there any online store that sells professional Riq like Kevork / Nakhle etc ?
Ahh please teach us slowly! Would be of great help!
April could you clarify and explain the meaning of the lower number ? I don't understand this notation, it's very confusion to me. What is the upper number ( I think I get that but want a confirmation) and the lower number
FINALLY SOMEONE SHOWS KA SOUND THANKS A LOT
Daye is Kurdish and means Mother. We aslo say Yade and god is a feminine noun Xwedê.
I got a dodgy darbuka the head doesn't line up flat with the rim so it's hard to get the slaps sounding right.
I’m in the same boat. I have to hit the rim really hard to get a good tek and ka sound but it feels like I’m working too hard. I tried tuning it up to get the head flush but it choked the sound even more so I’m just frustrated at this point. Did you ever get your issue figured out or try a new drum head?
@@tastelesstouch I couldn't fix as it's a manufacturing fault so a new head skin would have same problem. I think a metal grinder would help to put right but I have no skills in that department! Hope to get a better darbuka someday so I can practice, good luck I hope yours can be fixed.
That smile is bliss, great darkbukin'.
Please slow these down and teach us! You’re so good and teach so clearly!
so helpful, thank you for making this!! i hope you're still able to make more tutorial videos on the darbuka for us beginners!!
what a great sound. Sounds like an Eckermann 🙂
Well done!
I like to hear a person play their instrument first so I know if they can play well before I put much time into listening to their instructions.
Ah exactly what I was looking for thank you!
Love these! But still not quite sure how to physically make the pop sound!
Beautifully played! bravo°
Bravo, excellent, quel plaisir de vous voir jouer si finement..c est 👍
April hello, are you using middle finger of your left hand while you are making fast strokes with point and ring fingers?
Nice and sneaky... so to make the pop, you slightly touch the skin with your right hand and you hit with the left?
This is awesome, April! Love it! 😍
April ~ that was amazing !
Great ...
verry nice, i just got a silly lowmarked taburine of witch i tried to make sense with a pair of chopsticks. It was for my drunken Neal Young stuff. i realise now that i dissrespected this instrument horribly and i look forward for feature content.
